Ashley Williams, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Ashley started with Innova in 2014 and loves being part of such an incredible team. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder majoring in Biology and minoring in Biochemistry. She obtained her Master of Business Administration from Portland State University and has over two decades of strategic and operational experience in the healthcare industry. She oversees all corporate operations, finances, and strategy for Innova. The majority of her time is spent spearheading the development and implementation of effective growth strategies and making sure Innova’s processes are as effective and efficient as possible. She was named Woman to Watch by ColoradoBiz magazine in 2019 for her contributions to the Colorado Economy. Her passions include rock-climbing, philanthropy, and spending time with family.

Laura Edgerley-Gibb, MD, FACEP

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Laura Edgerley-Gibb grew up in the rural mining community of Craig in Western Colorado. She is passionate about rural Emergency Medicine and is grateful to be able to serve rural communities in this line of work. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder followed by her Doctor of Medicine from Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford, where she worked at Stanford University Hospital and San Francisco General Hospital among other sites. Dr. Edgerley-Gibb is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and in 2014 was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Emergency Physicians. She joined Innova Emergency Medical Associates in 2011 as an associate physician, then served as a site director, and in 2015 became our Chief Medical Officer. As CMO, she manages all clinical operations for Innova and works in the Emergency Department at all of our sites. She has a special interest in Quality/Performance Improvement and has extensive experience in trauma program development and achieving/maintaining state and ACS trauma designation. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her three daughters and husband and enjoying all of the outdoor beauty of Colorado.

Laura Edgerley-Gibb, MD, FACEP

Dani McGee, MBA

Chief Operating Officer

Dani joined Innova Emergency Medical Associates in 2014. She earned her BBA at the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business in 2010 and her MBA through the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business. Prior to joining Innova, Dani worked in sales in a variety of industries, but has been in the healthcare realm since 2012. Her role as Chief Operating Officer includes management of all things human resources, the range of medical staff processes, and our internal revenue cycle management team. In addition, she has a hand in accounting, staffing, and everyday operational functions. She enjoys working with Innova because of the challenging nature of her role and the teamwork approach to overcoming challenges. When she’s not working, she enjoys completing DIY projects and spending time with her husband, son, and Bernese Mountain Dog.

Peter Byers, MD

Regional Medical Director, Medical Director at Allen County Regional Hospital and Anderson County Hospital

Peter joined Innova Emergency Medical Associates in 2015. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine with a focus on Leadership in Medicine for Vulnerable and Underserved Populations. Following completion of emergency medicine residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, he worked in urban and rural hospitals in New Mexico. He is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served as a teacher in Cameroon, and has traveled and worked extensively in Africa. He is currently the Emergency Department Medical Director at Allen County Regional Hospital and Anderson County Hospital, as well as Innova’s Regional Medical Director for the Midwest. His interests include cooking, skiing, and tropical travel.

Jennifer Case, DO

Medical Director at Mt San Rafael Hospital

Jen completed medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2011. After earning her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her residency at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After residency Jen and her husband briefly moved to northern Atlanta prior to moving back home to Colorado. Jen has been with INNOVA since 2015 and is currently the Emergency Department Medical and Trauma Director at Mt. San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad, Colorado. She also serves as Physician Advisor for the Trinidad Fire District. Jen’s professional interests include EMS, Disaster Medicine, Emergency Preparedness and providing high quality, compassionate care to the rural communities served by INNOVA. Outside of work she enjoys home renovations, gardening and hiking with her husband and two goldendoodles.

Adam Dawson, DO

Medical Director at Kingman Regional Medical Center

Adam is an Arizona native who attended medical school at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona where in addition to his studies, he did genetics research and worked in a local emergency department. He and his wife, Allyssa, have 5 children and a love for pretty much anything, but especially anything outdoors. In the field of emergency medicine, he especially enjoys trauma services. He is an Eagle Scout who enjoys being active in the community and finds himself thrilled to be a part of Innova and a part of Kingman, Arizona.

Wissam Rhayem, MD

Medical Director at Gila Regional Medical Center

Dr. Rhayem joined Innova Emergency Associates in 2017. He earned his MD from The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Sciences. During medical school he was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society, for recognition of empathy, bedside manner, and modeling the human connection in healthcare. He went on to his Emergency Medicine residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center at the heart of Detroit. Prior to a career in medicine, Wissam worked for Amgen and Abraxis Biosciences in the Research and Development departments of these pharmaceutical giants. He is currently the Medical Director at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, NM.

Dyllon Martini, MD

Medical Director at Little Colorado Medical Center

Dyllon graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2012. After earning her Doctorate of Medicine, she completed her emergency medicine residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse, New York, graduating in 2015. Following residency she completed a two-year Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. After completing her fellowship she returned to Colorado and joined Innova. She is currently the Emergency Department Medical Director at Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow, Arizona. She is also clinical faculty at Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Aurora, Colorado. She remains interested in improving emergency care in rural settings, especially in the care of children in resource poor settings such as the rural communities served by Innova. When not working she enjoys traveling, reading, gardening and cooking, as well as exploring all that Colorado has to offer with her dogs and husband.

Preston Maxim, MD

Medical Director at HuHuKam Memorial Hospital

Preston joined Innova Emergency Medical Associates in 2016. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He did a transitional internship at Harvard/Cambridge Hospital then completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Boston Medical Center in 1999. He was chief resident in his final year. Prior to joining Innova, he was an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and worked at San Francisco General Hospital for 15 years, where he focused on providing comprehensive medical care to underserved urban populations, as well as researching and refining the early resuscitation and management of traumatic and orthopedic injuries. He was also a very active clinician-educator and received multiple bedside and clinical teaching awards from the UCSF Emergency Medicine residency, as well as serving as the Medical Director of the San Francisco Paramedics Association. He then worked for 2 years for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California, before joining Innova. He is currently the Emergency Department Medical Director at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, New Mexico.

Preston Maxim, MD

Shane Sergent, DO

Residency Director at Kingman Regional Medical Center

Dr. Sergent is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM), earning degrees in global and strategic management and osteopathic medicine respectively. He became part of the Innova team in 2017 serving as the emergency medicine residency co-program director and Global Health Director at Kingman Regional Medical Center. Prior to his employment he worked as the Medical Director of Global Health and Research at MSUCOM’s Institute of International Health. He has worked with International Outreach programs since 2009, implementing countless research and health initiatives internationally. Currently he serves on the boards of Foundation for Osteopathic Emergency Medicine and DOCARE International. He founded his own non-profit Terra One Health in 2020 to focus on local and international health disparities. When he is not working on global health projects, he enjoys wilderness and dive medicine.

Sam Slade, DO

Medical Director, San Luis Valley Health

Sam has been with Innova Emergency Medical Associates since 2019. Prior to medicine, Sam was a professional engineer and also earned an MBA. Following his graduation from Touro University Nevada in osteopathic medicine, he completed an emergency medicine residency in Kingman, Arizona where he was chief resident. His interests in medicine include wilderness medicine and administration. He enjoys outdoor activities and was an eagle scout as a youth. He also enjoys traveling with his wife and three kids.

Sam Slade, DO

Justina Truong, DO

Assistant Residency Director at Kingman Regional Medical Center

Dr. Truong is the Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC). She has completed a Fellowship in Medical Education and is obtaining her Doctor of Education (EdD) for Health Professions. She has extensive experience as core faculty and works as Medical Clerkship Director for the residency program as well. She obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Kingman Regional Medical Center.

During residency training, Dr. Truong acted as chief resident and was named the ACOEP/RSO Resident of the Year. This award recognizes an emergency medicine resident who has gone above and beyond their duties as a resident, leader, mentor, and academician. This award is the highest national award bestowed to an osteopathic emergency medicine resident each year. Dr. Truong has a passion for education and will continue to devote her time to strengthening the academic values of the residency program while mentoring the residents and students at KRMC.
